Human Capital Management Collection Reference Tables

Explanation
Throughout Workday, descriptive names are managed in lists of values, which are then fed to the Data Warehouse as lookup tables and used in the process of loading the HCM data collection. Some of these reference tables are very simple, while others are enhanced to facilitate reporting.

Individual reference tables:

LKUP_HCM_ACAD_APPOINT_REASON

• Usage: Reference table for Workday Academic appointment reasons. Indicates the detailed reason for the appointment record change. Additional columns facilitate grouping by business process event and category. (E.g., the "New Administrative Appointment" reason, with category "New Appointment", in the "Add Academic Appointment" business process event.)
• Unique Columns:
  • Acad_Appointment_Reason_ID: The system ID of the appointment reason.
  • Acad_Appointment_Reason: The descriptive text for the appointment reason.

LKUP_HCM_ACAD_RANK

• Usage: Reference table for Workday Academic Ranks. Refer to LKUP_HCM_ACAD_RANK_MAP for the association between Academic Ranks, Track Types, and the Faculty Class, Standing Faculty Rank and Academic Category used for reporting.
• Unique Columns:
  • Academic_Rank_ID: The system ID of the academic rank for the appointment.
  • Academic_Rank_Desc: The descriptive name of the academic rank for the appointment.

LKUP_HCM_ACAD_RANK_MAP

• Usage: Reference table associating Academic Ranks, Track Types, and reporting concepts of Faculty Class, Standing Faculty Rank, and Academic Category. Detailed column information may be found on the LKUP_HCM_ACAD_RANK_MAP data element page.
• Unique Columns:
  • Academic_Rank_ID: The system ID of the academic rank for the appointment.
  • Academic_Rank_Desc: The descriptive name of the academic rank for the appointment.

LKUP_HCM_ACAD_UNIT

• Usage: Reference table for Workday Academic Units. codes. Refer to the HCM_ACADEMIC_UNIT table to find the association between Academic Units and Penn Cost Centers.
• Unique Columns:
  • Academic_Unit_ID: The system ID of an Academic Unit.
  • Academic_Unit_Desc: The name of an Academic Unit.

LKUP_HCM_ACAD_UNIT_HIER

• Usage: Reference table for Workday Academic Units hierarchies. Refer to the HCM_PARENT_ACADEMIC_UNIT table to find the association between individual Academic Units to parents or ancestor units within Penn’s Workday Academic structure.
• Unique Columns:
  • Academic_Unit_Hierarchy_ID: The system ID of a unit in the Academic Hierarchy.
  • Academic_Unit_Hierarchy_Desc: The name a unit in the Academic Hierarchy.

LKUP_HCM_EARNING_CODE

• Usage: Reference table for Workday Earning Codes used in employee payments. Some values may be similar to Earnings Types used in the legacy PennWorks and mainframe Payroll system, although rules of usage may vary.
• Unique Columns:
  • Earning_Code: The earning code associated with a payment record.
  • Earning_Code_Desc: The description of the earning code associated with the payment record.

LKUP_HCM_JOB_FAMILY

• Usage: Reference table for Workday Job Families. Refer to HCM_JOB_FAMILY for the association between Workday Job Families, Job Family Groups, Job Profiles, and the Personnel Class, Faculty Class, Standing Faculty Rank and Academic Category used for reporting.
• Unique Columns:
  • Job_Family_ID: The system identifier for a grouping of similar job profiles.
  • Job_Family_Desc: The name of a grouping of similar job profiles.

LKUP_HCM_JOB_FAMILY_GROUP

• Usage: Reference table for Workday Job Family Groups. Refer to HCM_JOB_FAMILY for the association between Workday Job Family Groups, Job Families, Job Profiles, and the Personnel Class, Faculty Class, Standing Faculty Rank and Academic Category used for reporting.
• Unique Columns:
  • Job_Family_Group_ID: The system identifier for a grouping of similar job families.
  • Job_Family_Group_Desc: The name of a grouping of similar job families.

LKUP_HCM_JOB_PROFILE

• Usage: Reference table for Workday Job Profiles. Refer to HCM_JOB_FAMILY for the association between Workday Job Profiles, Job Family Groups, Job Families, and the Personnel Class, Faculty Class, Standing Faculty Rank and Academic Category used for reporting.
• Unique Columns:
  • Job_Profile_ID: The system identifier for a job profile. For job profiles converted from legacy systems to Workday, this is the same number as the Job_Class code.
  • Job_Profile_Name: The name of a job profile.

LKUP_HCM_LOCATION

• Usage: Reference table for locations associated with an address or Supervisory Organizations.
• Unique Columns:
  • Location_ID: The system ID for a location on campus. There is no connection between this information and the Space@Penn building codes or the legacy campus mail codes.
  • Location_Desc: The name of a location on campus.

LKUP_HCM_RACE_ETHNICITY

• Usage: Reference table for Workday race/ethnicity values.
• Unique Columns:
  • Race_Ethnicity_ID: The system identifier for the race/ethnicity description.
  • Race_Ethnicity_Desc: The descriptive text displayed in Workday for a race/ethnicity.
