WHYY to Connect through ISC's MAGPI
June 18, 2012 :: Shirley Ross, Information Systems & Computing
WHYY, Greater Philadelphia's leading public radio and TV provider, will soon be connected to the national high speed research and education network through ISC's MAGPI organization. ISC Networking & Telecommunications engineers are working with WHYY’s technical staff to determine how to provide a scalable connection to the high-speed backbone in July 2012. Once completed, WHYY will be one of only a few public media organizations across the country able to offer educational programming and content to audiences nationwide or even around the world. This marks a unique advancement for the public media sector and is especially promising for educational organizations across the region who will benefit from the vast array of WHYY content being delivered over broadband networks.
