Wireless Soon Available at Shoemaker Green

June 18, 2012 :: Shirley Ross, Information Systems & Computing

Shoemaker Green will have AirPennNet wireless coverage by Fall semester. It’s part of the initiative in which Information Systems & Computing continues to investigate and expand outdoor AirPennNet wireless service to areas where the Penn community congregates. The project will enable more extensive outdoor campus wireless coverage that also includes parts of Penn Park to the east, College Green, Perelman Quad, and John Fry Park to central, and parts of Super block to the west. Shoemaker Green is the 3.75 acres located between the old Palestra and the new Weiss Pavilion off 33rd Street. Shoemaker Green is the gateway between Locust Walk in the main part of campus and the new Penn Park at the eastern edge of campus.
