AirPennNet Midway Through Upgrades

May 26, 2010 :: Jeffrey Ballentine, Technology Support Services

ISC Networking & Telecommunications is now midway through a series of upgrades to AirPennNet that will enhance both the speed and security of the wireless network. These upgrades, which began in May 2010 and continue through May 2011, are being implemented in phases to allow for uninterrupted wireless service. For the final phase, individuals using Windows laptops to connect to AirPennNet will be required to upgrade SecureW2 software to the most current version by late May 2011.

To learn more about the service enhancements and to determine what steps you need to take before the end of May 2011 to continue to use AirPennNet service, AirPennNet users should consult the transition schedule at AirPennNet: www.upenn.edu/computing/wireless. The schedule includes links to instructions for Windows and Macintosh laptops as well as handheld devices.

AirPennNet users who need assistance or more information should contact their Local Support Provider (LSP).
