Computerworld Names ISC/Penn "Best Place to Work" in Mid-Atlantic, #6 in U.S.
July 21, 2008 :: Shirley Ross, Information Systems and Computing
For the fourth consecutive year Computerworld Magazine named Information Systems & Computing/Penn the #1 employer for IT professionals in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the magazine’s annual 100 Best Places to Work in IT survey. In addition, ISC/Penn ranked #6 nationally in this survey, its highest ranking ever. Computerworld ranked ISC/Penn #8 nationally in 2007 and 2005 and #9 in 2006.
This is truly an honor since literally thousands of companies and organizations participate in the survey. Computerworld uses a rigorous selection process that includes completion of a 100-question employer survey on categories such as career development, training, retention, work assignments, diversity, pay and benefits, and recognition programs. In addition, approximately 35% of ISC employees, randomly selected, completed a web-based survey that went directly to a third party research firm. ISC/Penn is in good company with General Mills, American Express, FedEx, Verizon, Cornell, Pfizer, Marriott, Boeing, All State, and University of Miami among the 100 employers chosen from thousands of candidates.
The award recognizes ISC’s strong collaborative culture, innovative and exciting projects and employee commitment to the Penn Compact, and Penn’s strong benefits and HR programs that provide the information and flexibility to help employees balance work and personal responsibilities. The rankings were announced in the June 30 issue of Computerworld and are available on line at http://www.computerworld.com/.
