ISC Wins CIO Magazine's CIO 100 Award
June 12 , 2007 :: Shirley Ross, ISC
Information Systems & Computing has been named a recipient of CIO
Magazine’s CIO 100 Award for 2007. Every
year CIO Magazine identifies and honors 100 organizations that have
created business value through effective and innovative use of IT. ISC
is being honored this year for its inventive use of open source programming
in bringing several strategic initiatives to Penn, including Student Borrowing
Management System, My Reimbursements For Travel & Living, and the Voice
Over IP replacement of Penn’s telecommunications infrastructure.
To be considered for the 20th annual awards, organizations first completed
an on-line survey. A team of CIO editors and writers reviewed the surveys,
debated their merits, and then voted to determine the final 100 out of the
thousands of submissions. ISC is in good company. This year’s
recipients include the Defense Intelligence Agency, Dell, Duke University,
Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development, Schering-Plough,
Unisys, the U.S. Department of Justice, and Vanguard.
The award will be announced in CIO Magazine’s August 15th issue.
