New Information Security Guide Is Here

November 4, 2004 :: John Lupton, ISC Information Security

ISC's Office of Information Security has recently published the 2004-05 version of its annual "A Guide To Information Security". This 12-page pamphlet contains basic, fundamental information on how individual computer users of all levels at Penn can enhance and maintain their security when using e-mail, the World Wide Web, file sharing and other common applications. In addition, there is newly-added information on topics such as PennKey, wireless networking, Software Update Service, personal firewalls and disclosure of sensitive personal and medical information.

The brochure is free, and is available at many locations across the Penn campus including the Computing Resource Center in Sansom West and the Computer Connection. Or, a copy can be mailed to you by sending a request to security@isc.upenn.edu. An online version of the brochure can also be read at http://www.upenn.edu/computing/security/brochure.
