PennConnect CD wins national award
November 21, 2003 :: Mike Lazenka, ISC Technology Support
Services
The PennConnect 2003 CD was
honored with 1st Place in this year's Communications Awards competition
sponsored by SIGUCCS.
SIGUCCS is the ACM Special Interest Group on University and College
Computing Services. It focuses on preparing its members to assist
scholars in the effective use of technology. College and university
computing service professionals, consultants, technical writers,
and librarians join together to exchange ideas for improving computing
service in the university environment.
Each year SIGUCCS sponsors competitions to recognize outstanding
publications developed at college and university computing centers.
The competitions recognize excellence in developing useful and attractive
publications and provide SIGUCCS conference participants with an
opportunity to review model publications that may help them develop
or enhance their own work.
The PennConnect CD was judged on ease of use, jacket, label, and
interface design, and overall functionality in the Software CD category.
As a result of their win this year, the PennConnect CD team will
be asked to judge entries in next year's CD competition.
