PennConnect 2003 CD-ROM Released

September 4, 2003 :: Michael Lazenka, ISC Technology Support Services

Information Systems & Computing (ISC) has released the PennConnect CD-ROM for the 2003-2004 academic year. PennConnect 2003 contains the recommended networking and anti-virus software along with recommended Web browsers and other Internet applications including clients for terminal emulation, email, and NetNews.

This year's CD provides students, faculty and staff with a tour of some of Penn's campus sculpture as it guides users through software installation and configuration. Additional information about each featured sculpture is available via an "art" button that appears in the lower left corner of each screen. The CD-ROM is cross-platform and works on Mac OS 9.x and Mac OS X.x, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000 Professional, and Windows XP.

Copies are available for many faculty and staff directly from their local support provider, or at the Computing Resource Center, Suite 202, Sansom Place West, 3650 Chestnut Street. The CRC's hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 4:30pm through Friday, September 12, and then 2:00pm - 4:30pm thereafter. The software is also available for download via PennNet and the Internet. The Supported Products page provides additional information and download links to the software.
