Linux security seminar on June 19th
June 1, 2003 :: John Lupton, ISC Information Security
ISC Information Security will sponsor a one-day Linux security seminar
on Thursday, June 19, 2003 from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. The location will
be Huntsman Hall G60 (with thanks to Melissa Muth and Mike Robinson in
Wharton for their assistance in obtaining the room). Coffee and light
breakfast will be available beginning at approximately 8:30 am.
Returning to serve as instructor for this seminar will be Lee Brotzman,
CISSP, of Allied Technology Group. Lee is a former SANS faculty member,
and gave a similar session for us in 2001. We got many good comments about
Lee from those who attended that session, and we are pleased to have the
opportunity to have him back. Lee says he has a fair amount of updated
material, so even if you attended the 2001 session, this will be a good
chance to freshen up your Linux security skills.
This seminar is available and free to anyone with a valid PennCard or
UPHS ID. A limited number of seats will be available to non-Penn people
at a cost of $100 per person. As usual, we will also make a limited number
of AC outlets available for laptop use, but no network connections will
be provided.
Pre-registration for this seminar is required for all attendees. Deadline
for registration is Friday, June 13 at 4:30 pm. To register, send email
to John Lupton (lupton @ isc.upenn.edu) with the following information:
Name
Email address
Affiliation (Penn/UPHS/Other) School/Organization (If Penn)
Phone (campus phone for Penn/UPHS attendees)
Requesting AC outlet? (Yes/No)
We do not anticipate filling up the space, but the sooner you register,
the less likely it will be that you end up on a waiting list.
Penn/UPHS attendees will be required to show their PennCard or ID on entering
the room. Non-Penn attendees will be required to present a check for the
appropriate amount, payable to "Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania".
