PENNERA_SPONSOR Table

DWADMIN Schema

Explanation
Reference table for codes that identify the external organization that provides support for a sponsored project. Includes sponsors of proposed or awarded projects, or of projects involving research protocols.

Contains the 5-character SPONSOR_CODE, the 300-character SPONSOR_DESC, and the 50-character SPONSOR_TYPE. For example, SPONSOR_CODE ‘62776’ has the description ‘SOCIETY FOR AMBULATORY ANESTHESIA’, and the type ‘UPENN Other Non-Profit Organizations’.

Common Uses

  • Displaying the name of the sponsor of the fund, rather than the SPONSOR_CODE that appears in a related table. ("Don't show the codes in the report. Show the English instead.")
  • Reporting by sponsor type. (“Show me all the activity for sponsors that are foundations.”)

Cautions

  • The PENNERA_SPONSOR table differs from the FUND_SPONSORS table. The PENNERA_SPONSOR table includes the code for a sponsor if it is the sponsor of a proposed or awarded project, or of a project involving a research protocol. The FUND_SPONSORS table includes the code for a sponsor only if it is the sponsor of an awarded project (the sponsor associated with a 5- fund in the General Ledger).
