SRS UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS Table

Explanation

Selected data elements from the Undergraduate Admissions' Master File are fed to SRS through an interface, and these in turn appear in the Data Warehouse. Not all data from Admissions goes to SRS via the interface; all undergraduate Admissions data in SRS does get downloaded to the Data Warehouse.

Some data from Admissions duplicates data found in SRS, and in some cases, uses different lists of values. For example, the Ethnic_Code in the SRS_Admissions table may not match that in the Ethnic_Code in the Person Table. Admissions_SSN is usually the same as the SID (SSN) in SRS, but it is sometimes different, if there was a correction or update in SRS after the student was admitted.

Common Uses

• Identifying academic areas of interest for incoming students, using Admissions_Major.
• Long-range analysis on relative SAT scores of specified cohorts of students.

Cautions

• Unless you are already familiar with Undergraduate Admissions data, some of the lists of values will not be meaningful.
• Some of the date fields are not 21st century compliant.
