ATHLETIC Table

Explanation

Student athletes have a record in this table for each term for each intercollegiate sport in which they are eligible to participate. It is possible for a student to have more than one record for a single term if that student is elibible for more than one sport during that term.

Common Uses

  • Determining athletic eligibility of students for a term. ("Which of our team's students may not be eligible for the team this year?")
  • Analyzing patterns of athletic eligibility. ("How many students who were eligible to play basketball in Spring of 1994 were also eligible for football?")

Cautions

  • Eligibility does not necessarily indicate participation. We do not currently have any central administrative data collection that can answer the question "who played football this term?"
