SUB_CONTRACTOR Table
Explanation
Lookup table for subcontractor codes for proposals, grants, and contracts. Given
a subcontractor code, gives the subcontractor's name. For example, the name
that corresponds to subcontractor code "VU" is "VANDERBILT UNIV."
Common Uses
- Displaying the actual name of the subcontractor instead of the subcontractor
code that appears in the SPON_PROJ_SUBCONTRACTOR table. ("Don't show the codes
in the report. Show the English instead.")

Cautions
- When including subcontractor information in reports on proposals or awards,
note that multiple records will be returned for a given proposal or award
if there is a more than one subcontractor for the proposal or award.
- If a subcontractor takes a new name, the subcontractor will probably be
given a new code. This means that the subcontractor will have more than one
record in the SUB_CONTRACTOR table. There is no way to tell that these records
actually refer to the same subcontractor.
