V_EXIT_ACTION table

(dwngss.v_exit_action)

Explanation

This is a validation table, containing the values and descriptions for the codes that identify types of exits from a curriculum.

Examples of exit actions: L = Leave of Absence, I = Internal Transfer, W = Withdrew

Source

The warehouse V_EXIT_ACTION table is refreshed in batch mode from the Operational Data Store (ODS), which gets its data from the Banner database. The UPENN_ODS source table is SATURN_STVLEAV.

Cautions and notes

  • In Pennant Student Records, leaves are stored in the exit action. (In the legacy data collection, Leaves of Absence were not stored in the exit action.) A null exit action means the student did not exit the curriculum in that term.
  • Graduation is not considered an exit action. Graduation terms and dates are stored in different columns and are not reflected in the exit action.
  • It is possible for a student to be in multiple concurrent curricula, and only exit from one or some of the programs, remaining in other programs. Only when a student exits all of their curricula does their Student Status become inactive.
