Explanation

The Student Activity table term-based information about student participation in non-academic activities, for example: Greek Life, ROTC, NCAA sports, etc.

The warehouse ST_ACTIVITY table is refreshed in batch mode from the Operational Data Store (ODS), which gets its data from the Banner database. The ODS source tables are UPENN_ODS.SATURN_SGRSACT. In the online Pennant system, the data about students' activities can be viewed on the SGASTDN form.

Common Uses

• Identify students in specified activity groups, in a specified term.

Cautions and notes

• ST_ACTIVITY is term-based; activities can change from term-to-term. Activites are not linked to specific curricula.
• The table ST_SPORT contains codes for activities that are specifically sports-related. The same activities are also found in the ST_ACTIVITY table, in other words, some codes will be the same in both tables, in the same term.
