STATUS
Indexed - no
Format - char (1)
May be null? yes
|
The one-character code that indicates whether a sponsored project fund
is active according to BEN Financials report logic. All of the following
criteria must be satisfied for the fund to be considered inactive (indicated
by a STATUS of 'I'). If any of the following criteria are not satisfied,
the fund is considered active (indicated by a STATUS of 'A'):
1. The fund code itself is disabled or expired. (Only Research Accounting
can expire or disable a grant fund value; this is usally done 90 to 120
days after award termination.) The fund code is disabled or expired if
its ENABLED flag in the FUND_CODES table has a value of 'N'.)
2. There has been no budget, actual or encumbrance activity during the
fiscal year being reported (that is, the fiscal year associated with the
accouting period parameter for the report query). Determining this involves
an an extensive test of the BALANCES table, summing (separately) the values
of ACTUAL_PJTD, OPER_BUDGET_PJTD, and TOTAL_ENCUMBERED for each ACCOUNTING_PERIOD/COA_ORG/COA_FUND/COA_OBJECT,
where each object selected is a child of parent object K108. (This calculation,
and the comparison that follows, must proceed on an object-by-object basis.)
The previous ADJ period is determined, and then the values of ACTUAL_PJTD,
OPER_BUDGET_PJTD, and TOTAL_ENCUMBERED are summed for each corresponding
COA_ORG/COA_FUND/COA_OBJECT in the ADJ period. The two sets of sums are
compared. If any of the three buckets is not equal to its corresponding
ADJ bucket (again, for any object taken separately), there is FYTD activity,
and the fund is active.
3. The net project-to-date revenue plus expense is zero. Determining this
involves another extensive test of the BALANCES table, summing (in aggregate)
the value of ACTUAL_PJTD for the ACCOUNTING_PERIOD/COA_ORG/COA_FUND/PARENT_OBJECT,
where the parent object selected is K108. If the sum is not equal to zero,
there is PJTD activity, and the fund is active.
Examples: A (Active); I (Inactive)
Values:
A Active
I Inactive
