Lookup table for US States and Canadian Provinces.

Common Uses

• Displaying the actual name of a state or province instead of the code that appears in one of the Related Tables. ("Don't show the codes in the report. Show the English instead.")

Cautions

• This table may differ from State lists maintained in other systems at Penn. In the Student Records System (SRS), the State field houses the 2-character US State code, and also all unincorporated territories associate with the United States, as well as military "state" designations. It also houses the 2-character code for Canadian Provinces.
• The Country code in this table is a two-character code that can be decoded from the Country table used by SRS.
