Positions 1 to 4 are the alphabetic code for the subject area of the academic discipline under which the course is offered.

Positions 5 to 7 indicate the course number assigned to the course at the inventory level.

Positions 8 to 10 indicate the section number for a specific course section in a specific term.

Generally, term specific sections with a middle digit of 5 indicate that the course was taken through Study Abroad.

For crosslisted courses, a code that indicates how the number of available seats for this course section is controlled. Crosslisting occurs when the same course section is offered under more than one course Id.

If the value is P, registrations are accepted for any of the crosslisted partners until the limit carried by the primary is reached.

Values:

[NULL]     Not Cross Listed
I          Independent Seat Limit Control.  
Each section is assigned its own number of available seats. P Primary Seat Limit Control.
The primary section controls the total number of available seats.

A code that indicates whether the course section is crosslisted. Crosslisting occurs when the same course section is offered under more than one course Id. There may be up to 6 different course Ids for the same section. Only one course section carries the primary course designation, which controls the meeting arrangements.

P          Primary Cross Listing
S          Secondary Cross Listing
