The Course
Inventory Description Text table has the full text of the course description
as it appears in the Course Register publication. These descriptions are
entered in SRS on screen 1D4, and can be defined as belonging to separate
paragraphs for publication printing. There can be up to four paragraphs
per course ID.
Common Uses
- List
all courses where the text string "data analysis " appears
in the paragraphs of the course description in the Course Register.
- Find
all courses that do not have a course description in the Course Register.

Cautions
- Only data from the "paragraph" items in the SRS Course Descriptions are extracted to the warehouse. Courses with nothing in the items # 6, 7, 8, or 9 on SRS screen 1D4 will not have description data in this table.
- A course can have up to 4 paragraphs in its description; these are stored in separate rows in the COURSE INV DESC TEXT table, one row per paragraph per course_id.
- Although
there can be more than one entry in the COURSE_INVENTORY table for a
given course, it should be assumed that the description paragraphs belong to the most
recent entry for that Course_Id in the COURSE_INVENTORY table.
