This is a validation table, containing the values and descriptions for codes used to identify the various types of approval that can be required for course registration.

The warehouse V_REG_SPEC_APPR table is refreshed in batch mode from the Operational Data Store (ODS), which gets its data from the Banner database. The UPENN_ODS source table is SATURN_STVSAPR.

Cautions and notes

• For cross-listed courses, the primary course usually controls the special approvals required. However, the source system does allow for course sections to have independent approval requirements, as long as the controlling course section in CLSS allows it.
