V_ORIG_DEPT table

Explanation

This is a validation table, containing the values and descriptions for the codes used for the department or academic unit originally associated with the student's originating record. Also used to identify origin of comments, and department-of-origin for student holds.

The warehouse V_ORIG_DEPT table is refreshed in batch mode from the Operational Data Store (ODS), which gets its data from the Banner database. The UPENN_ODS source table is SATURN_STVORIG.
