Explanation

This is a validation table, containing the valid values and descriptions of Country (aka "Nation") codes used in Pennant_Student_Records. The codes are consistent with the International Standards Organization (ISO) Alpha2 country codes.

The warehouse V_COUNTRY table is refreshed in batch mode from the Operational Data Store (ODS), which gets its data from the Banner database. The UPENN_ODS source table is STVNATN.

Cautions and notes

• See also the Country Codes Master table in the Data Warehouse.
• Caution: do not confuse Country codes with County codes. County codes are codes for the US counties, located in every state.
