V_CONCENTRATION table

Explanation

This is a rules table, containing the valid combinations of concentrations with majors within each division, degree, level and program where the concentration can be used.

The warehouse V_CONCENTRATION table is refreshed in batch mode from the Operational Data Store (ODS), which gets its data from the Banner database. The UPENN_ODS source tables are SATURN_SOBCURR, SATURN_SORCMJR and SATURN_SORCCON.

Cautions and notes

• This table does not provide the decode, or "lookup" for concentration descriptions. It is a rules table, that provides information about how concentrations can be used with majors in the context of each academic program that allows concentrations. For concentration codes and their descriptions, see the V_MAJOR_MINOR table.
