ST_DEPT_HONOR table

Explanation

Contains the codes and descriptions of honors given to graduating students by the departments in which they studied, generally corresponding to the students' majors.

The warehouse ST_DEPT_HONOR table is refreshed in batch mode from the Operational Data Store (ODS), which gets its data from the Banner database. The ODS source tables are UPENN_ODS.SATURN_SPRIDEN and UPENN_ODS.SATURN_SHRDGDH. In the online Pennant system, the data about students' departmental honors can be viewed on the SHADEGR form.

Common Uses

• Find students receiving departmental honors for a specified graduation year.

Cautions and notes

• The documentation for the data elements in the ST_DEPT_HONOR table is based on Banner's source documentation. How the "display on diploma" and "display on transcript" fields will be used at Penn is still tbd.
• Department honors do not include "Latin honors" (Magna Cum Laude, Summa Cum Laude,etc.) See the institutional honors in the ST_INST_HONOR table.
