ST_ATTRIBUTE table

Explanation

Contains information about term-based attributes that are assigned to students. Students can have multiple attributes in a term, and attributes can sometimes change from term-to-term. Examples: Attributes can identify the student's Penn-assigned classification, or whether they are a provisional admit, or whether they are a PhD student on Dissertation, etc.

The warehouse ST_ATTRIBUTE table is refreshed in batch mode from the Operational Data Store (ODS), which gets its data from the Banner database. The ODS source table is UPENN_ODS.SATURN_SGRSATT. In the online Pennant system, the data about students' addresses can be viewed on the SGASADD form.

Common Uses

• Identify a students' attributes in a give term.
• Find all students assigned to a specific attribute.

Cautions and notes

• When a student goes from having one or more attributes in a term to having no attributes in the next term, the next term will have a record for that student in the ST_ATTRIBUTE table with an attribute code of "NONE".
