COURSE SECTION SCHEDULED WITH GROUP table

Explanation

Contains information about the group (identified in the column Sched_With_Group) to which cross-listed course sections belong. Cross-listed or "Scheduled With" course sections are sections that are scheduled in CLSS to meet together, at the same time, in the same location, taught by the same instructor. See also the CRSE_SECT_SCHED_WITH table.

The CRSE_SECT_SCHED_WITH_GRP table holds the total enrollment count for all enrollments in all sections belonging to the scheduled-with group in a term.

The warehouse CRSE_SECT_SCHED_WITH_GRP table is refreshed in batch mode from the Operational Data Store (ODS), which gets its data from the Banner database. The UPENN_ODS source table is SATURN_SSBXLST.

Cautions and notes

SCHED_WITH_GRP identifies the group of courses scheduled to meet at the same time in the same place taught by the same instructors in a term. These are also sometimes referred to as the term cross-listed sections. They may or may not be in the base course cross-list (COURSE_XLIST) table. Base course cross-listing is established in the Curriculum Management system, where they are identified as "also offered as" courses. However, course sections that meet together do not have to belong to an "also offered as" family of courses; they can simply be sections that are set up in CLSS as "scheduled with" each other.
