COURSE SECTION OVERRIDE table

(dwngss_ps.crse_sect_override)

Explanation

Contains any overrides to departments or divisions on a scheduled course offering. Overrides are used when a course section needs to be established with a setup that is different from the base course in the catalog, for example, a course may be associated with the School of Arts and Sciences in the catalog, but a specific scheduled course section might be set up as being administered by the Liberal and Professional Studies division.

The warehouse CRSE_SECT_OVERRIDE table is refreshed in batch mode from the Operational Data Store (ODS), which gets its data from the Banner database. The UPENN_ODS source table is SATURN_SSBOVRR.

Cautions and notes

• The CRSE_SECT_OVERRIDE table has columns for Administrative Unit and Taxonomy of Program overrides. As of the initial rollout of Pennant Student Records, those two fields are not used at Penn.
