Using the source system (Banner) curriculum rules tables, the Approved Academic Program table provides the current valid combination of division, degree, program, major (with concentration) and minor that can be used on student curriculum records.

The warehouse APPROVED_ACADEMIC_PROGRAM table is refreshed in batch mode from the Operational Data Store (ODS), which gets its data from the Banner database. The UPENN_ODS source tables are SATURN_SOBCURR, SATURN_SORCMJR, SATURN_SORCCON.

Common Uses

• Finding the current relationships of majors and minors to their associated divisions and degrees.

• This table does not contain the history of previous curriculum rules; it reflects the current state.
