The ASSET_CATEGORIES segment descriptions and other attributes for asset categories. ASSET_CATEGORIES is replaced in its entirety during nightly updates.

Common Uses
Displaying the description, major, minor or code associated with an asset's category, as of the most recent update to the Data Warehouse.

Cautions

• Keep in mind that ASSET_CATEGORIES is a decode table of current asset category information. An asset's category may change over time - historical monthly snapshots of asset/category associations are available in the ASSET_CATEGORIES_SNAP table.
• The ASSET_CATEGORIES table is stored in the DWGL schema in the Data Warehouse.
